Ralph Porrett is a guitarist, singer and songwriter who spans a wide range of genres, incorporating elements of jazz, blues and folk into his music. Influenced by Bill Frisell, Laura Marling, and Bon Iver, his improvisational flair and dedication to the guitar has garnered notable recognition from BBC Radio stations. Ralph is releasing a collection of singles throughout 2024 while working on his debut album.

He is the only guitarist to have reached the final of BBC Young Jazz Musician. Ralph performed in the competition at Cadogan Hall in 2020 and at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in 2022, where he showcased a suite of original music, broadcast on BBC Four. He has performed for His Royal Highness the King at Westminster Abbey, the Prime Minister at Chequers Court, and at the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms. Ralph tours internationally with YolanDa Brown OBE and regularly plays with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

He is a Junior Fellow of the Guildhall School where he was awarded a Concert Recital Diploma, graduating with First Class Honours in 2022. When he’s not touring or recording, Ralph enjoys open water swimming, running in Battersea Park and eating rissóis.
